Manual Adjustment for Shooting

Adjust the shutter speed and aperture value manually for shooting.
These settings are adjusted separately for videos and still images.

P: Adjusts exposure (i.e., brightness) (Programmed Auto).

Once exposure is adjusted, “APERTURE” and “SHUTTER SPEED” are adjusted automatically according to the brightness of the subject.

Set the shooting dial to P.

To adjust exposure further by manual operation

Press the “EXPOSURE” button. Change the numerical value by using the adjustment dial, and then press the “SET” button.

A: Adjusts aperture (Aperture Priority)

“SHUTTER SPEED” is adjusted automatically to maintain an optimal exposure.

Set the shooting dial to A.

By decreasing the numerical value, background appears blurry, making the subject stood out.

To adjust exposure further by manual operation

Press the “EXPOSURE” button. Change the numerical value by using the adjustment dial, and then press the “SET” button.

S: Adjusts the shutter speed (Shutter Speed Priority)

“APERTURE” is adjusted automatically to maintain an optimal exposure.

Set the shooting dial to S.

By decreasing the numerical value, a fast-moving subject can be captured clearly, without appearing blurry.

To adjust exposure further by manual operation

Press the “EXPOSURE” button. Change the numerical value by using the adjustment dial, and then press the “SET” button.

M: Adjusts aperture and shutter speed at the same time (Manual)

Exposure (brightness) is fixed by adjusting the aperture and shutter speed.

Set the shooting dial to M.

Change the numerical value of “SHUTTER SPEED” by using the adjustment dial, and then press the “EXPOSURE” button.

Memo

When the shutter speed is adjusted manually (M), an appropriate exposure may not be obtained.

When the shutter speed is set to 4 seconds, focus is fixed to manual, and “GAIN UP” is fixed to “OFF”.

U: Saves the setting values of frequently-used functions (User Settings)

When adjusting aperture and shutter speed, settings can be easily completed by saving the setting values if these values are used repeatedly.

Setting values can be saved at the User Settings (U) of the shooting dial. Different setting values can be saved for videos and still images.

Saving setting values of the USER dial

Tap “MENU”.

The top menu appears.

Tap “RECORD SETTING”.

Tap Cursor_Right on the lower right of the screen.

(This screen appears when the shooting dial is set to i.AUTO)

Tap the setting items.

Tap the setting value.

For “SHUTTER SPEED” and “APERTURE”, to tap “MANUAL”, select the setting values by tapping Cursor_Left / Cursor_Right , and the tap “SET”.

Repeat step 5 to 6 to set other items.
