Preparing a BD Writer (External Blu-ray Drive)

Caution

You cannot create a disc if the remaining battery power is not enough. Charge this unit fully beforehand.

Memo

When connecting this unit to the BD writer (external Blu ray drive), use an Mini-A (male) - B (male) USB conversion cable. Please note that the supplied USB cable cannot be used for this purpose.

To use the USB cable provided with the BD writer (external Blu-ray drive), purchase the following USB conversion cable.

*Consult your nearest service center.

Open the terminal cover.

Connect the USB cable and the AC adapter of the BD writer.

Before making any connection, close the LCD monitor to turn off this unit.

C4B5 BD Writer

Connect the USB cable of the BD writer (external Blu-ray drive).

The USB cable provided with this unit cannot be used.

Attach a commercially available USB conversion cable (P/N: QAM0852-001) to the USB cable provided with the BD writer, and connect the BD writer to this unit.
Attach the USB cable to the USB conversion cable provided with this unit, then connect to this unit.
Plug the AC adapter of the BD writer into the power outlet.
Connect the other end of the AC adapter to the BD writer.

The BD writer turns on.

Refer also to the instruction manual of the BD writer (external Blu-ray drive).

Open the LCD monitor.

This unit turns on and the “BACK-UP” menu appears.

While the USB cable is connected, the “BACK-UP” menu is displayed.

Insert a new disc.

DVDセット（BD）
Press the eject button to open the disc tray.
Load a new disc properly.
Press the eject button to close the disc tray.

Caution

Be sure to turn off the power when connecting the devices.
Otherwise, electric shocks or malfunctions may occur.

Do not connect the AC adapter provided with this unit to the BD writer.
