You can select the definition of the recorded videos (4K, HD, SD, Web or High-Speed), file format for recording/playback, and the video recording format on this camera recorder.
Setting the Record Format Menu
The recording format is switched.
A “Please Wait...” message appears on the screen during switching.
Selecting a System Definition
The following definitions are available for selection.
4K:
Records in 4K resolution (3840x2160)
HD:
Records in HD (High Definition) resolution (1920x1080 or 1280x720)
SD:
Records in SD (Standard Definition) resolution (720x480 or 720x576)
Web:
Records in resolution (1440x1080, 960x540, 720x480, 720x576, or 480x270) suitable for web distribution
High-Speed:
Records in HD resolution (1920×1080)
You can select a definition for the recorded images from the following items under [System].
4K:
Records in 4K quality for both slots A and B.
HD:
Records in HD quality for both slots A and B.
SD:
Records in SD quality for both slots A and B.
HD+Web:
Records in HD quality for slot A, and Web quality for slot B.
High-Speed:
Records in HD quality for both slots A and B.
Selecting a File Format
Select a file format in [ Format]/[ Format].
There are three file formats for selection.
AVCHD:
AVCHD file format
QuickTime:
QuickTime file format (.MOV)
Exchange: (U model only)
Sports Video Interop Group format (.MP4)
When [System] is set to “4K”, this item is fixed at “QuickTime”.
Exchange file format can be selected only when [System] is set to “HD”.
When Exchange file format is selected, backup recording and clip cutter function cannot be used.
Selecting a Video Format
Select a [Record Format] from the list of formats.
The selectable [ Frame Rate]/[ Bit Rate]/[ Frame Rate] and [ Bit Rate] change according to the settings of [System]/[ Format]/[ Resolution]/[ Format], and [ Resolution].

When [ Format] is set to “QuickTime” and [ Resolution] is set to “1920x1080”, the selectable options for [ Bit Rate] vary according to the setting for [ Frame Rate].

When [System] is set to “HD+Web”, “50M(YUV422)” cannot be selected.

The [Rec Mode] is fixed at “Normal”.
The following functions cannot be used when “High-Speed” is selected.
Network, Time Stamp Recording, Flicker Correction, Shading, Face Detection and WDR
The settings for slot B are fixed at the same as slot A.
For the “TC Generator” setting, only “Rec Run” and “Regen” can be selected.
It is not possible to set a shutter speed that is slower than the frame rate.
(Example: When 120/60p is selected, 1/120 to 1/10000 can be set.)
The angle of view shifts to telephoto.
(35 mm conversion: [Normal] 29.6 mm to 355 mm → [High-Speed] 49.3 mm to 592 mm)
The sensitivity of high speed shooting is lower than normal shooting. In order to capture more beautiful images, it is recommended to perform shooting in a lighted environment.
The remaining space on the media (recordable time to a SD card) runs out faster than usual.
(Example: For 120/60p, as the recording speed is twice as fast as usual, the remaining space on the media is reduced by approximately double the speed.)
Selecting the Aspect Ratio of SD Videos
For setting the aspect ratio of the SD recording image when [System] is set to “SD”.
You can select “16:9” or “4:3”.
For conditions other than those above, this item is fixed at “16:9”.
