Image Monitoring via Direct Connection ( DIRECT MONITORING )
You can check the image captured on the camera via direct connection (Wi-Fi Direct) with a smartphone, without the need for an access point (wireless LAN router).
Recording of videos and still images may be performed while monitoring.
Caution
This function is not designed for disaster or crime prevention.
To prevent the situation of forgetting to turn off the power, this unit will turn off automatically after 10 days of continuous usage.
When not monitoring from a smartphone, the focus of the camera is fixed.
Even when monitoring from a smartphone, the focus of the camera will be fixed if not operated for more than 3 hours. (Focus works again when the camera is operated.)
You may have difficulty establishing a connection via direct monitoring in an environment where the camera is placed away from the smartphone. In this case, connect using the access point (wireless LAN router).
Depending on the device in use or connecting environment, it may take some time to establish a connection.
What You Need
Smartphone
(Wi-Fi that is compatible with WPA2 is necessary.)
Settings Required in Advance
Set up your camera and smartphone by performing the following operations.
For a smartphone with WPS support, refer to the “Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)”.
*WPS is a method to connect the camera and the smartphone wirelessly by easy button operations.
1Connecting Smartphone Directly to Camera (Wi-Fi Direct)
Connect the smartphone directly (Wi-Fi Direct) to the camera by either of the following methods.
Connection by entering the Wi-Fi password
Tap “MENU”.

Set the camera to the recording mode.
The top menu appears.

) icon in the “Wi-Fi” menu.

When “50p” is selected for “SYSTEM SELECT”, the following display appears and recording mode is switched to the 50i mode.
Check the SSID and the PASS being displayed on the screen of the camera.
Select the SSID in step 4 from the Wi-Fi network selection screen of your smartphone, and enter the PASS on the password screen.

For details on connecting your smartphone to a Wi-Fi network, please refer to the instruction manual of the device in use.
A connection is established and appears on the camera’s screen.
Connection by Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
Tap “MENU”.

Activate WPS on the smartphone within 2 minutes.

Connection by generating a QR code

Handling information
The information you have entered is used to generate the QR code.
The information is erased after the QR code is generated, and will not be retained on the web server.
The QR code generated includes your information so please handle with care.
2Monitoring Images from Smartphone
Smartphone (Android / iPhone)
Memo
Prior to use this function, a smartphone application needs to be installed on the smartphone.
Start “Everio sync. 3” on the smartphone after setting DIRECT CONNECTION.
Tap “DIRECT MONITORING”.
