Checking the Remaining Battery Level and Recording Time

Display the remaining battery power and the remaining recording time.

Memo

The remaining battery power and the remaining recording time are estimates.

Recording Mode

Tap “MENU”.

Select “Monitor” with Cursor_Up or Cursor_Down , followed by tapping “SET”.

Select “Media Remain” or “Battery” with Cursor_Up or Cursor_Down , followed by tapping “SET”.

Select “On” with Cursor_Up or Cursor_Down , followed by tapping “SET”.

To exit the menu, tap batsu .

Remaining Recording Time, Battery Level

The white SD card icon indicates the slot that is currently selected.

When the battery level is running low, the battery icon and the battery level indicator changes to the following colors.
- When battery level is 30% or lower: yellow color
- When battery level is 10% or lower: red color
Charge the camera as soon as possible when the icon and indicator turn red.
When the battery power runs out, a “RES” mark (red) appears.
Charge the camera immediately.

The remaining recording time is displayed in red color when it falls below 3 minutes.
Replace the SD card with a new one.

Recording cannot be performed when the recordable time is not displayed and the following message appears.
Check the SD card when this occurs.

Icon Lock

SD card is write-protected

! INVALID

Writing/Reading error or unable to restore SD card

! INCORRECT

The SD card inserted does not meet the speed class requirements

!REC INH

An SDHC card is inserted when [4 GB Spanning] is set to [Off (SDXC)]

An attempt has been made to record video in 60p or 60i to an SD card recorded in 50p or 50i in [AVCHD], and vice versa.

Memo

If the remaining time and battery indicator display disappears, tap OSD_Display-Change_D(1) .

When an AC adapter is connected while “System” is set to “4K” or “High-Speed”, the battery level indicator will not be displayed.

If an AC adapter is connected while “System” is set to “HD” and the battery is not fully charged, AC Battery is displayed instead of the battery level indicator.

Playback Mode

Tap Change_PLAY to select the playback mode.

Tap “ACTION”.

Select “Display Media Info.”, followed by tapping “SET”.

Check the remaining battery level and recording time.

The remaining recording time is displayed for the recording media that is currently selected. To switch the recording media that is displayed, tap C8C_SLOT .

“28M” is configurable only when “Frame Rate” is set to “50p”/“60p”, while “24M”“18M” is configurable only when “Frame Rate” is set to “50i”/“60i”.

The still image has the same resolution as the video image.

The above are values when “LCD Backlight” is set to “0”.

The actual recording time is the recording time when operations such as starting/stopping recording, turning on/off the unit or zooming is performed repeatedly.

Recording time may differ depending on the shooting environment and usage.

When the recording time becomes extremely short even when the battery is fully charged, the battery needs to be replaced. For details on replacing the built-in battery (subject to a fee), consult the nearest JVC service center.
